An early blueprint of Apple's next iPad might have just leaked

A blueprint of Apple's much-rumored 12.9-inch iPad has reportedly leaked online, showing the tablet's full dimensions and giving us an idea of what it might look like.

The image was posted by Twitter account OnLeaks, which is run by Steve Hemmerstoffer, the site editor for Nowhereelse.fr - a French news website that has posted numerous credible leaks in the past about Apple's previous iPads before they were released.

If Hemmerstoffer's blueprint is accurate, the so-called iPad Pro would measure about 12 x 8.7 x 0.2 inches.

That would make it decently larger than the iPad Air 2 in terms of length and width (the iPad Air 2 is 9.4 inches long and 6.6 inches wide), but just slightly thicker at 0.28 inches thick versus 0.24.

He notes, though, that the blueprint dates back to December 2014, so it's possible that it's outdated. We won't know for sure until Apple decides to tell us about it's next iPad, which usually happens in October.

Other than its larger screen and thinner frame, the next iPad could have a second port, too, as a leak from Dutch blog VandaagApple indicates. The larger iPad has also been rumored to include a stylus and could possibly introduce split-screen multitasking within iOS, a feature some have said Apple was aiming to debut with iOS 8.

If the leaks, rumors, and reports we've heard about so far are true, this would be Apple's largest iPad yet.

This could potentially make it more appealing to for enterprise use cases - an incentive that Apple CEO Tim Cook has been vocal about in the past. And, the iPad Pro's larger screen would put it in a better position to compete with other tablets that are optimized for productivity, like Samsung's Galaxy Note Pro and Microsoft's new Surface.
