Business Insider UK wins 'digital launch of the year' at the British Media Awards
The BMAs recognise innovation in media in both editorial and business. The awards are presented by The Media Briefing, a trade publication for media publishers.
Earlier in the evening, the BMA recognised Alan Rusbridger, the former editor of The Guardian, for his outstanding contribution to British media over the past 20 years.
Business Insider UK was launched as a new, wholly owned company by its New York-based parent, Business Insider, in November 2014. At the time, roughly 1 million British people read Business Insider in any given month. Now, about 7 million unique users read Business Insider UK every month, according to Google Analytics.
Julian Childs, managing director of Business Insider UK and Europe, said, "We're thrilled the hard work of all our team has been recognised by the industry in launching and building the UK version of Business Insider. In a remarkably short space of time we have become the largest business site in the UK and continue to bring our own brand of business news to new digital audiences. That success is down to our focus on readers, clients and the dedication of this team."
