With the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) winning the Delhi Assembly elections, the focus now shifts on the government formation and delivering on the promises that it had made to the people of Delhi. According to our sources in AAP, most of the ministers in the erstwhile 49-day government led by Arvind Kejriwal will retain their respective portfolios.“Most of our ex-ministers, including Manish Sisodia and Somnath Bharti, will once again be inducted in the new Cabinet. The former is likely to retain the key portfolios of education, urban development and the public works department, while the latter is expected to be re-instated as the law minister,” a party source told Business Insider.
He further added that some of the newly elected members of the legislative Assembly (MLAs), who have won the election for the first time, would also figure in the list of Cabinet ministers. Senior party leader Gopal Rai is certain to bag a prominent Cabinet berth.
Meanwhile, AAP has said that it would give the post of the ‘leader of opposition’ to the BJP even though it failed to win the required 10% of the total seats in order to stake claim for the same. "Even if BJP gets less thn 7 seats we will give LOP to BJP. Democracy runs through consensus," tweeted AAP leader Kumar Vishwas.
