This tiny round smartphone might be the oddest mobile device we've ever seen

How does your smartphone make you feel? Is it an essential tool for getting things done? Is it a convenient way to kill some time? Or is it a handcuff, keeping you tied to an endless stream of everything all of the time?

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. But if that last bit hits a little too close to home, a new mobile device wants to let you access the info you might need while purposefully making itself less of an anchor for your day-to-day.

That device, the Runcible, comes from a small California-based startup called Monohm, and went up for pre-order on Indiegogo this week. It's at once provocative and really odd. Let's take a closer look.
