The death of 3-year old Aylan Kurdi brought to the forefront the horrendous tales of the Syrian refugee crises. We all knew there was a war and there were war crimes. But it took an infant’s death to hit us hard with the reality.

Here are some instances where it took millions to die before the world came forward to their aide, or at least they say are doing their best.
