The ISRO’s Mission Mars had been in limelight since beginning. In the last one month, Mangalyaan made many friends across the globe via Twitter and also tried to befriend its new neighbour Phobos, one of the two moons circling Mars. It’s journey is becoming interesting day by day.

Mangalyaan, which is one of the cheapest Mars missions, also carried with it five scientific instruments--a camera, two spectrometers, a radiometer and a photometer--to study the Martian surface and its mineral composition and scan its atmosphere for methane gas.
The MOM was launched on November 5, 2013 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh with the powerful Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
