- Ola now offers three models of the
Ola S1 Air , two models of the Ola S1 and a top-endOla S1 Pro . - The company has delayed the deliveries of Ola S1 Air from March to July 2023.
- Ola has also teased the launch of five new electric bikes in the country.
The company now offers three Ola S1 Air models, two Ola S1 models, and the lone Ola S1 Pro model. If you have been planning on purchasing an electric scooter and are confused about which variant you should pick, the below comparison will help you decide which variant you should go with.
The price is the most important factor you need to keep in mind while making a decision.
The biggest difference between all the models offered by Ola is the battery pack they are equipped with and the range that they offer
The Ola electric scooters come with an IDC range from 85 km up to 181 km in Eco mode. Still, the real-world range may not be as high.
If you do not travel much and your commute is limited to around 20 to 30 km per day, you can go with the Ola S1 Air 2kWh or Ola S1 2kWh variants. If your commute is slightly higher, you can opt for the Ola S1 Air 3kWh or Ola S1 3kWh.
If you are like me, who prefers to travel without worrying about running out of charge and does not like charging every day, I recommend you to go with the Ola S1 Air 4kWh or the Ola S1 Pro.
It’s not just the battery and range that separates the different Ola electric scooters.
While all three variants of the Ola S1 Air are equipped with the same motor and offer the same top speed, the Ola S1 2kWh is slightly less powerful when compared to the Ola S1 3kWh variant despite being equipped with the same motor.
While the performance of all three scooters is adequate for day-to-day usage, the Ola S1 Pro leads the pack by a large margin if you are looking for the best performance.
After comparing all the other things, the footboard may look trivial, but that’s not the case with Ola’s electric scooters.
The Ola S1 Air comes with an important improvement, an improved footboard with a flat design that allows you to carry groceries and other items with you easily. A spine passes through the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro’s footboard, making it difficult to place anything on it.
In addition to comparing the hardware, it is important also to compare the delivery times.
The Ola S1 Pro and the Ola S1 3kWh are expected to be delivered at the earliest, with the newly announced Ola S1 2kWh expected to be delivered starting from April 2023.
Ola has delayed the deliveries of the Ola S1 Air by four months, pushing deliveries from March 2023 to July 2023. Bhavish Aggarwal has claimed that the delayed deliveries are due to the new variants announced by the company.
To recall, in October 2022, the company announced a 2.5kWh battery pack variant, which has now been removed. Users who had pre-booked the scooter will be given the 3kWh variant without paying any additional amount. That means they will get the 3kWh variant that costs ₹99,999 for ₹84,999.
If you need the scooter immediately, we recommend you opt for either the Ola S1 Pro or the Ola S1 3kWh variant.
If you can wait for a few months, you can select the scooter that fits your budget and your requirements.
