Top upcoming cars in India - two wheeled drive modes, panoramic sunroof and other futuristic features

There has been a decline in auto sales in India over the past few months but that is not stopping auto makers from announcing new cars. At the ongoing Auto Expo 2020, several car makers showcased their upcoming cars.

In addition to electric cars and interesting car concepts, they also showcased traditional petrol and diesel cars for the Indian market. In this post, we will look at some of the upcoming cars for the Indian market.

Top upcoming cars in India

Tata Harrier – Now with a panoramic sunroof



The Tata Harrier has been relaunched with a BS6 engine and an automatic variant. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre multijet engine capable of developing 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. It is also the first car from the company to offer a panoramic sunroof.

The BS6 Harrier is priced starting at ₹13.69 lakh and the automatic variant is priced at ₹16.25 lakh.

Tata Gravitas – A BS6 engine and a sunroof


The Tata Gravitas was also showcased at the Auto Expo and is expected to be available from April 2020. It is powered by a BS6 complaint 2.0-litre Kryotec engine that can develop 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque.

The Tata Gravitas is expected to be priced around ₹15 lakh.

Tata HBX - with Altroz’s ALFA Arc platform



The Tata HBX is equipped with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that can develop 86 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. It is based on the Altroz’s ALFA Arc platform and is expected to be priced upwards of ₹5 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza - the updated version

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift is the updated version of the Brezza. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of pear torque. It combines with a standard 5-speed manual transmission.

MG ZS Petrol - turbocharged vs aspirated

After the launch of the MG ZS EV, the British automaker is now working on bringing the petrol variant of the SUV. The car will be available in two variants – a 1.3 litre turbocharged engine capable of 160 PS of power and a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine that is capable of 120 PS of power.

MG G10 MPV - a luxury MPV

The MG G10 MPV has also been announced at the Auto Expo 2020. It is offered in two variants - a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 218 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque and a 1.9-litre diesel engine that generates 150 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque.

MG RC 6 - the company’s first sedan in India



The MG RC 6 will be the first sedan from the company in India and is expected to be announced early next year. It is equipped with a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine capable of 156 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.

MG Gloster - three-row full-size SUV



The MG Gloster is a three-row full-size SUV and is expected to be launched soon in India. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is capable of producing 220 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque.

Hyundai Creta - the second-gen car

The second-gen Hyundai Creta was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. It will be available in three engine options - a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The Creta will be launched in March 2020 and is expected to range between ₹10 lakh and ₹17 lakh.

Volkswagen T-Roc - turbocharged petrol engine

The Volkswagen T-Roc was showcased during the Auto Expo 2020 and is scheduled to launch in March 2020. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 147 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. It is expected to be priced around ₹18 lakh.

Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace - with two-wheel drive mode



The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace is based on the Tiguan and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2020. It is powered by a 2-litre TSI petrol engine and is expected to be available in the two-wheel drive mode.

It is expected to be priced around ₹30 lakh.
