Guar gum futures up on spot demand

New Delhi, Mar 3 () Guar gum prices on Tuesday surged Rs 207 to Rs 6,124 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators widened their holdings driven by firm trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for March delivery traded higher 3.5 per cent, or Rs 207, to Rs 6,124 per five quintal with an open interest of 16,625 lots.

Likewise, the contracts for April delivery was trading up by Rs 61, or 3.3 per cent, to Rs 6,193 per five quintal as open interest stood at 42,695 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices. VHP SHWSHW
