Ramdev confident of double turnover for Patanjali in one year

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who is the co-founder and promoter of Patanjali Ayurved Limited, has expressed confidence that the turnover of the FMCG company would double within a year.

Presently, the 2006-founded Patanjali has a turnover of Rs 10,561 crore.

"Within one-two years, Patanjali will be country's biggest swadeshi brand," said Ramdev.

Asked about his plans for expansion, Ramdev said that Patanjali would double its distributor strength from 6,000 to 12,000 within one year, while also investing Rs 5,000 crore for five new plants. He also said that the number of Patanjali employees will increase from the existing one lakh to five lakh within one year.

"In India, FMCG has meant MNCs so far. Patanjali has broke that monopoly. We are not a corporate house. We have good quality, affordable prices, and are ploughing back profits for product innovation," said the yoga guru.
