Today, Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, announced that the JEE Advanced 2021 examinations would be held on July 3, 2021.

Every year, JEE Advanced exam used to be conducted in the month of May.

In a Twitter live session, Nishank also clarified the changes in the eligibility criteria for the exams and the selection process. He said that the 75% eligibility criteria for the exam has been scrapped keeping in mind that the COVID situation still prevails in the country.

Earlier to appear for JEE Advanced, candidates were required to have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate in Class 12 board examination. And for SC, ST and PWD candidates the benchmark was at least 65%.

The exam will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur, he added.

This time the ministry has allowed the qualifying candidates of JEE Main 2020 who couldn’t appear for the second stage of the examination due to the pandemic to appear for JEE Advanced directly.

The JEE Advanced 2021 exam will be held in two shifts given the pandemic and post the conclusion the authorities will release the JEE Advanced answer key 2021 on its official website. The JEE Advanced examination is conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

What is JEE Advanced?

The JEE Advanced 2021 is held for admissions to the all 23 Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) for Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s program in Engineering.

Registration for JEE Advanced 2021 will be done online at jeeadv.ac.in. The admit card, result and other information will be released on its official website.

This year, engineering examination candidates (JEE Main 2021) will get four attempts to qualify for the examination — in February, March, April and May, — with the first session starting from February 23 to 26. The National Testing Agency (NTA) who conducts exams on behalf of the ministry will then release the merit at the end of the fourth session in May.
