According to data from S&P, every type of US bond tracked by the firm had lost money in September as of last Friday.
Overall, this year has been pretty kind to fixed income investors, with only the S&P Green Bond index - which tracks only bonds that have been used to finance environmentally friendly projects - in the red year-to-date.
An ugly month for bonds.
Fortunately, September ends on Tuesday.
