Gone are the days when you had to wait for days to get your electronic appliance fixed by an authorised workshop when it stopped working. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution has introduced the Right to Repair portal to address this issue and make it more consumer-friendly.

This online platform offers self-repair manuals and details of authorised third-party repair providers, enabling customers to get their laptops, appliances, and other items fixed from local shops without voiding their warranty. The portal covers four sectors: Farming Equipment, Mobile and Electronics, Consumer Durables, and Automobile Equipment.

The Right to Repair portal offers a wide range of services, including product repair and maintenance, replacement parts, and warranty information. Customers can also access details of authorised service providers and product warranties and information on product maintenance and repair.

How to use the Right to Repair portal
