Indeed, many times kids often bear the brunt of parents’ overwrought sense of misdirected humour - and with names like Adolf Lu Hitler Marak, the Meghalaya politician and much more.

Right now, few Indians can think of anything but the Coronavirus pandemic and unfortunately it is inspiring a few to name their newborns around the theme.

A stranded Rajasthan couple in Tripura named their newborn - Lockdown. The baby boy was born at the Tripura government-run Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) State Hospital in the capital city last week.

After observing the customary rituals at a shelter camp on Wednesday, they decided on the name. Around 105 people, including 25 children, all nomads and hailing from Rajasthan’s Alwar district, came to Tripura to take part in various fairs last month. They could not return after a countrywide lockdown came into enforcement from March 25.

A baby called Sanitizer

A couple from Uttar Pradesh, who gave birth to a son this month, named their him -- Sanitizer. The couple said that they hope their son’s name will serve as a reminder for people to keep their hands clean in order to protect against the Coronavirus.

The twins - ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’

The two words may evoke fear and devastation in the minds of others. Still, for the Raipur- based couple they symbolise triumph over hardships as the twins — a boy and a girl - were born during the lockdown.

They named their newborn twins — Corona and Covid.

The names, they said, would remind them of all the hardships they conquered amid the lockdown, ahead of successful delivery on the intervening night of March 26-27 at a government hospital.

Although, the word Corona in Spanish was used to be crown and was widely accepted so. That was until this pandemic and disease named after it unleashed destruction across the world.
