Maharashtra allows metro services, weekly market and business exhibitions  to resume from tomorrow, schools to remain shut

The Uddhav Thackeray government on October 14 announced new guidelines to follow under ‘Mission Begin Again’ and decided to allow metro trains in Mumbai to operate from October 15 in a phased manner.

The government has decided to do away with stamping of indelible ink for domestic passengers arriving at different airports after COVID-19 testing. Health check up and stamping of passengers at railway stations will also be stopped.

New unlock guidelines: What is allowed now
  • Marriage, other personal family functions, and related gatherings with the number of guests not exceeding 50 will continue to be allowed.
  • Funeral/last rites related gatherings with the number of persons not exceeding 20 will continue to be allowed.
  • Gardens, parks, and public open spaces for recreational purposes will continue to be open.
  • Business to Business (B2B) Exhibitions will be permitted to open in areas outside containment zones from October 15.
  • The government allowed reopening of all state-run and private libraries from Thursday following COVID-19 protocols, as per the guidelines issued.
  • Local weekly bazaars, including that of animals, will also be allowed to reopen outside containment zones.
