Tripura residents light lamps to display resolve in fighting COVID-19

Agartala, Apr 5 () Responding to Prime MinisterNarendra Modi's call, residents of Tripura switched off theelectric lights of their houses at 9 pm on Sunday and lightedearthen lamps to display their resolve in fighting novelcoronavirus.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, his wife Niti and sonAryan lighted earthen lamps at the veranda of the chiefminister's official residence.

"It was an incredible moment today joining ourcountrymen with lighted Diyas to dispel the darkness spread byCOVID-19. Thanks to @narendramodi ji for this auspiciousinitiative. I believe, this unity will surely register winover COVID 19 pandemic," Deb tweeted.
