Hank Scorpio is a supervillain in the animated American sitcom 'The Simpsons."

He appears in the episode "You Only Move Twice," in which the Simpson family relocates to an idyllic town when father Homer gets a new job, only for Homer to discover that his new boss, Scorpio, is a manical villain hell bent on taking over the world.

During the final scenes of the episode, Scorpio is seen firing a flamethrower at enemies.

Musk was previously compared to Scorpio in 2018 when he launched a flamethrower, jokingly called the "Not-a-Flamethrower." The flamethrower sold 20,000 units, costing customers a total of close to $10 billion.

Musk was criticized by US politicians for creating the device, prompting him to announce every flamethrower would be shipped with "a complimentary boring fire extinguisher."

The machine was named "Not-a-Flamethrower," owing to shipping and customs regulations that restrict the transport of anything named a flamethrower.

Musk has previously been compared to other supervillains such as Superman nemesis Lex Luthor, and has frequently been the subject of jokes about secretly being a supervillain thanks to his innovative, often wacky, new devices and gadgets, such as the Not-a-Flamethrower, and the new Tesla Cybertruck.

A Washington Post article suggested Musk has a "dark side," and shares interests with Bond villains such as Dominic Greene in the Quantum of Solace - who used environmentalism as a cover, and Ernst Stavro Blofeld, for his interest in outer space.
