After Flipkart, Paytm has asked brands to open online stores on its digital platform

The Noida-headquartered e-commerce firm "True power of online platforms is in connecting sellers and brands directly with the end customers. The platform that we have created for brands gives them complete control of their online presence," Amit Bagaria, vice-president at Paytm, said on Sunday.

Last week, we had reported how Flipkart had entered into tie-ups with several brands including HP, Wildcraft, Peter England, Bosch and @Home, which would allow them to create brand hubs on its digital marketplace.
These online brand stores from Paytm are independent online retail stores for brands to control its sellers regarding inventory, pricing and promotions, to run promotional campaigns and tag their physical stores, and to enable them to generate sales for their offline channels.

"From a customer perspective, the shopping experience on these stores is far superior, since the brands directly engage with customers, just like in offline stores," Bagaria said.
