Delhi Election: Expect These Assured Minimum Facilities At Delhi Polling Stations
Among the several responsibilities in front of the Election Commission pertaining to the conduct of elections, ensuring the convenience of the voters at the polling booths is an important one. The EC has been taking steps to see to that the needs of the voters are taken care at the polling booths so that they do not face any inconvenience or discomfort. The EC has also issued strong instructions to the Chief Electoral Officer stationed at Delhi before the conduct of 9 February 2020 Delhi assembly elections to ensure the provision of assured minimum facilities at the polling stations. Assured minimum facilities (AMF) that will be available at the polling booths of Delhi

  • Good access road leading to the polling station
  • Clean and safe drinking water
  • Waiting shed to relax before joining the queue
  • Clean toilet with running water facility provided separately for males and females
  • PwD friendly toilet
  • Adequate lighting arrangement
  • Ramp facility for the PwD voters to reach the polling booth fitted with firm hand rails
  • A standardized voting compartment maintaining the height of the ballot unit to be disabled friendly.
  • Adequate moving space around the ballot unit for wheelchairs
  • Separate entry and exit to the polling station. In case this is not there, there must be rope to make the separator.
  • Signage to indicate the entrance, exit, parking facilities, PwD parking facilities, male and female toilets, drinking water and toilets for PwD voters.
