Syracuse lacrosse team fooled Virginia's defense with an awesome hidden ball trick for an easy goal
The Syracuse men's lacrosse team is ranked #1.
On Sunday, facing #5 Virginia, Syracuse pulled off a tricky play for a goal in the first quarter.
Syracuse goalie Bobby Wardwell stopped a shot, but the ball bounced into defenseman Brandon Mullins' stick. Mullins and Wardwell then faked a hand-off to make it seem as if Wardwell had the ball.
The play was hardly noticeable live:

Mullins, who still had the ball, casually trotted up the sidelines while Wardwell pretended to have the ball and stalled the defense:

The Virginia defense eventually realized Wardwell didn't have the ball, but it was too late. Mullins eventually passed it to teammate Kevin Rice, who got a fairly open goal:

Hidden ball tricks aren't entirely unheard of in lacrosse, as Sports Illustrated notes, but this seems like an exceptional one as Syracuse managed to go the length of the field and get a goal out of it.
