The Texas Longhorns were blown out on Saturday by in-state rival Texas Christian 50-7, in a game that was somehow worse than the score indicated, and was exasperated by a couple of incidents on social media.
Texas, who is now 1-4, and 7-11 in two seasons under Charlie Strong, trailed TCU 30-0 at the end of the first quarter and 37-0 at halftime. TCU coasted in the second half, taking their foot of the gas and using backups in a game that could have been much worse.
However, it was at halftime when one social media moment raised some eyebrows. The account for Texas freshman defensive back Kris Boyd shared (retweeted) a tweet on his account from somebody suggesting he and another player should transfer to Texas A&M (via the Houston Chronicle).

It is unclear if Boyd or somebody controlling the account made the retweet, but it reportedly happened at halftime while the players were in the locker room.
The second incident occurred later, when the person behind the official account of the Texas Rangers accidentally (presumably) tweeted "Fire Charlie.# bye," apparently in reference to Texas coach Charlie Strong (via CBS Sports).

Texas hit the trifecta, and not the good kind.
