This bizarre 'Fake A Baby' website helped a teen dupe everyone into thinking she was pregnant for months
A 16-year-old girl from Michigan is making headlines after it was revealed that she reportedly pretended to be pregnant using a fake ultrasound and pregnancy belly purchased from "FakeABaby.com."
The teen (whose identity isn't being made public since she's a minor) was allegedly pregnant at some point but miscarried early, then used FakeABaby.com to fool her family and friends into believing she was still pregnant with triplets for almost ten months, Fox News reports.
Now, the 16-year-old could be facing charges for her pregnancy sham, because she accepted gifts and money from a local charity and members of a Facebook group devoted to "Moms of Triplets," according to Fox News.
Here's a look at the Fake A Baby website.
The site sells everything from fake ultrasound images to silicon pregnancy bellies. "Positive" pregnancy tests are currently on sale for $19.95.
Suspicions began to arise when the teen allegedly posted pictures of her Fake A Baby ultrasound in the "Moms of Triplets" Facebook group, Fox News also reported. A mother in the group noticed that the ultrasound was fake and reportedly tipped off the teen's family.
On the day before the teenager was reportedly supposed to deliver the triplets via C-section, she reportedly told her family she lost the babies. When she refused medical attention, her family called the authorities to look into the situation, Fox reported.
"I don't think anybody should go through that," Jordan, the teenage girl's boyfriend told Fox News after the truth was revelead. "All this over a website."
