Floral vandalization! Yeah that’s what happened in Amsterdam recently. The happy cyclists on the streets were surprised to find their bike baskets filled with heap of flowers. Hundreds of bikes across Dam Square, Central Station and Museumplein, wore a floral look.
Amsterdam as a city is one of the most developed with high level of happiness index. Crisscrossed by innumerable canals, the small bridges in between are hanging gardens with flowers all around. Taking a cue from that dreamy ambience of the city, Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam – Kimpton’s first hotel in Europe has got the in-hotel florist together with team members have taken to the streets to ‘vandalise’ bikes with beautiful flower arrangements.
Nature and botanicals are key themes for Kimpton De Witt, from the living wall at the entrance and a local Dutch florist ‘Frank’ on site to theindoor courtyard, bird-shaped bedside lights and Pols Potten porcelain gold-dipped parrot statues.
Along with flowers, the Kimpton De Witt team had placed printed notes by Amsterdam-based illustrator Hyshil Sander on each bicycle that encouraged people to post a picture to Instagram along with #dewittamsterdam.
