2019 is set to be a great year for women officers in the Indian army. Over the past few years, women officers serving major forces in the country have come to the forefront, leading many all-male contingents.

Lieutenant Bhavana Kasturi lead an Indian army contingent of 144 male personnel on Army Day parade in India. It is for the first time in the history of armed forces that any woman is leading.
