The new 'God of War' game looks incredible, and will arrive in 'early 2018'
A new "God of War" game is in the works, and it's a bit of a departure from previous entries in the series.

Rather than ripping through thousands of enemies with the traditional "chain blades," the re-booted "God of War" stars a softer, gentler, more parental Kratos.
Here's Kratos with his son, a primary component of the new game:

It appears that Kratos is leaving the trappings of ancient Greece - and the many Gods that rule it - for Norse mythology and snow-covered woods. It also appears that his origin story is being somewhat re-imagined. He's usually driven by the death of his family, but the new "God of War" puts him in the role of a single father raising his son.
Don't let that fool you, though - this is still a series with massive beasts and loads of combat.

And rather than Kratos taking on the world all by himself (as he is wont to do), it appears as though the game is a bit of a training session for his son.
Expect lots of fraught moments like this:
