After a delay of nine months, the 67th National Film Awards are finally underway in New Delhi. And, the best actor award is being shared by Manoj Bajpaypee and Dhanush for their work in Bhosle and Asuran, respectively.

The 51-year old Manoj Bajpayee’s first National Film Award was in 2000 for the movie Satya in the category of best supporting actor. In 2005, Pinjar won in the category of special jury (feature film).

Dhanush, whose real name is Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, has starred in over 44 films during the span of his career. This will be his fourth National Film Award but only the second time that he’s won the best actor category. In 2010, he won the accolade for his performance in Aadukalam.

The other National Film Awards to his name were for the best children’s film Kaaka Muttai in 2014 and best feature film in Tamil Visaranai in 2015.
