Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that there will be no lockdown relaxation in the national capital as all the 11 districts in Delhi are Coronavirus hotspots.

"After assessing the prevailing situation in Delhi, we have decided not to permit any relaxation in the lockdown, as of now," the Chief Minister said.

No relaxation as all 11 districts are hotspots

Arvind Kejriwal mentioned that the Centre has said that lockdown relaxation should not be given in hotspots. He added that as all 11 districts in the national capital have been declared as hotspots, no relaxation can be given.

"We need to plan about the relaxation in the lockdown. Centre is saying that we should not relax the lockdown in the containment zones/hotspots. All the 11 districts of Delhi are declared hotspots. So, according to the Centre, no relaxation can be given in Delhi," Kejriwal added.

Asymptomatic patients have become a concern for the government

The Delhi Chief Minister said that 186 new cases were reported on April 18 and all these patients were asymptomatic. "They didn't know they had coronavirus. This is more worrying." he said

Situation will be reviewed after a week

While there will not be any relaxation in Delhi from April 20, Kejriwal added that the situation will be reviewed after a week and if there is any improvement, the government will give relaxations.

Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev directed officials that the lockdown should be strictly followed without any relaxation for additional activities "till another comprehensive assessment on April 27 or further order, whichever is earlier".
