Ireland celebrates 100 years since the 'Easter Rising' with a massive military parade

A hundred years ago this week, while Britain's military was mired in World War I's trench warfare, a group of Irish nationalists seized key buildings in Dublin and clashed with British forces in what became known as the "Easter Rising."
Within a week, British forces struck back at the nationalists, executing many of them. This eventually galvanized the Irish people behind the cause of their independence, and which later led to the war of Irish independence in 1919.
Flash forward to Easter Sunday in 2016, when the streets of Dublin are lined with free Irish enjoying a parade to mark the centenary of a pivotal moment in their history.
