- Oprah says she is not interested in running for president.
- The idea of an Oprah presidential bid has gained steam in recent weeks.
Billionaire Oprah Winfrey sought to dispel the notion that she may run for president in 2020, telling InStyle magazine that she is not interested in doing so.
"I've always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not," she said. "And so it's not something that interests me."
The famed television host was widely promoted as a possible contender for the Democratic Party's 2020 nomination after her rousing speech at the Golden Globes earlier this month, which was followed up with her close friends telling CNN that she was "actively thinking" about running.
President Donald Trump even weighed in on the idea, saying running against Winfrey would be "fun" and that he would defeat her.
Winfrey previously shot down the idea of a possible presidential bid, telling Gayle King on "CBS This Morning" in October that there would be "no running for office of any kind for me."
