The Queen may be 90, but she still needs an online profile- what with having to compete with the Pope’s online presence.

And, thus with the aim of expanding the internet coverage of the British Royal Family, the monarchy is currently on the search for a new Head of Digital Engagement ( translated to Social Media Editor in peasant language) for Queen Elizabeth II.

The position is based in Buckingham Palace and will pay ‘£45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience.

"The role of Royal Communications is to engage a worldwide audience with the public role and work of The Royal Family," says the listing advertised on the official site of the British Monarchy.

"Joining this fast paced and dynamic team, your challenge will be to lead on and develop our digital communications strategy, and ensure that we make effective use of a range of digital platforms to support these aims."

So basically, the job involves managing a small team, posting content on the official Twitter and Facebook accounts which make the Royal look cool. Easy-peasy. They’re expecting someone who can stay abreast of trends and has digital experience with handling high-profile website.
