June sees 3.2X increase over April in average Print ad volumes per day: TAM

  • TAM AdEx Print Advertising Report has revealed that there has been a significant increase in print ad volumes in June in comparison to April 2020.
  • Cars has led as the category that advertised the most followed by coaching and competitive exams centres.
  • Close to 75% ads between April and June were in Hindi and English.

While Print as a medium was badly hit during the lockdown months, things slowly seem to be picking up. Latest data from TAM has revealed that there has been a 3.2 times increase in the average Print ad volumes per day over April.

The cars category topped the list with 8% share of Ad Space followed by ads by coaching and competitive exam centre. 4 out of the top 10 categories were from the education sector, together accounting for 16% share.



While the multiple courses categories occupied the third position with 5% share, hospital/clinics was on fourth position with 4% share followed by range of OTC products.


Between April and June 2020, around 75% of the print ads were in Hindi and English. Ads in other 11 languages accounted 25% share of ad space of Apr-Jun’20. With almost similar ad language share ie 5%, ads in Kannada, Marathi and Tamil ranked 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.

Uttar Pradesh accounted for 17% of ad volume followed by Maharashtra with 10% share.
