Guar gum futures fall 4 pc on weak demand

New Delhi, Mar 12 () Guar gum prices on Thursday plunged Rs 229 to Rs 5,520 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings, in line with weak trend in spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for March delivery fell by Rs 229, or 3.98 per cent, to Rs 5,520 per five quintal in 4,145 lots.

Guar gum for April delivery eased by Rs 232, or 3.99 per cent, to Rs 5,578 per five quintal in 52,315 lots.

Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants amid weak demand mainly dragged down guar gum prices here. VHPRVK
