Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

  • Elon Musk on Monday tweeted the music video to 1991 hip-hop song "O.P.P." by Naughty by Nature.
  • Musk tweeted the caption "Naughty by Nature" and a winking emoji, which could be interpreted as a reference to his conflict with the SEC.
  • It follows Musk reaching a settlement with the SEC that forces him to step down as Tesla chairman after he made "false and misleading" claims about taking the company private.

It's been another eventful few days for Elon Musk. First, he was going to settle with Securities and Exchange Commission, then he decided against it, before finally doing a deal. It's enough to give someone whiplash.

His settlement, announced on Saturday after the SEC said it was going to sue the billionaire, requires Musk pay a $20 million fine and step down as chairman of Tesla for at least three years.

On Monday, in one of his first tweets since the deal was announced, Musk posted the music video for Naughty by Nature song "O.P.P." He captioned it with "Naughty by Nature," followed by a winking emoji.

The lyrics of "O.P.P" refer to sleeping with other peoples partners and spouses, with O.P.P. standing for "other people's p---y," "other people's penis," or more generally "other people's property."

While Musk has tweeted out music videos before, and the lyrics have no discernable link to his dealings with the SEC,  the caption could be interpreted as a flippant reference to the past few days.

Indeed, some Twitter user made the connection. Bryan Stranahan tweeted this screenshot with coincidental Twitter notifications:
