It's not just you: A bug is causing direct messages on Twitter to be delayed

A bug on Twitter is causing a delay in the delivery of direct messages to users.

Twitter confirmed Wednesday that an "irregularity" is preventing direct messages from being delivered. The team is "currently investigating" the issue, and is working on a fix, Twitter says.

Users started reporting issues with their DMs on Wednesday morning, saying that they were getting notifications of messages but weren't seeing them appear in their inbox.

Twitter isn't the only social platform experiencing issues Wednesday. Facebook and its family of apps - WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger - have been hit with outages reported around the world, including in the US, Europe, and South America.
