Assam, one of the key states of northeastern India that goes to polls starting April 11. The election will be held in three key phases. The total voter strength of Assam is approximately 18,723,032.
Key political parties in Assam are Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Asom Gana Parishad, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and others. In the last Lok Sabha elections, the voter turnout in Assam was on the higher side - at almost 80%.
