Pirates just leaked a Blu-Ray version of the latest 'Star Wars' movie online

Bad news J.J. Abrams: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been leaked online by pirates.

As TorrentFreak reports, a HD Blu-Ray version of the film has appeared on torrent sites like The Pirate Bay and Kickass Torrents, where it has been downloaded thousands of times.

The film debuted in the cinemas in December 2015, and is due to be released for home viewing on April 5.

But piracy group REPLiCA got its hands on a copy before this, and has shared it with the masses.

There have been pirated versions of "The Force Awakens" available online before - but these have all been "cam" copies secretly recorded in cinemas using handheld cameras. This is the first time a commercial-quality of the film has appeared online.

Over Christmas, pirates were treated to a bonanza of leaks as dozens of award-nominated films were released illegally online - including "The Hateful Eight," "Legends," "Steve Jobs," and "Bridge of Spies." However, "Star Wars" was not among them.
