OnePlus’ affordable smartphone with premium features — Nord CE 2 5G is now up for sale in India

The recently held OnePlus double feature event had some exciting announcements. Apart from the new line-up of smart TVs, it was the Nord CE 2 5G that grabbed a lot of attention. That too, for all the right reasons as it's the most affordable smartphone offering from the company with some of the most popular flagship features. The latest Nord will go live on sale starting today — 22nd Feb and will be available on Amazon, OnePlus.in, and the OnePlus store application.

Price and availability

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 is available in 2 variants. Offered at a price of ₹23,999 it comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The high-end variant offers an upgraded 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, for a price of ₹24,999.

Signature Software

OnePlus is known for its clean operating system and the case is no different here. The Nord CE 2 features a well-optimized version of OxygenOS 11, complete with an improved dark mode and a new one-handed usage mode. Running on Android 11 out of the box, users can expect a smooth experience. CE 2 5G is also future proof, with OnePlus announcing an Oxygen OS 12 update for the latter half of 2022 for the smartphone. Additionally, it will be getting 2 years of Android version updates and 3 years of Android security patches.

Fluid AMOLED Display

In the front Nord CE 2 5G features a 6.43-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display. With a max refresh rate of 90Hz, this display makes everything you do on the phone a lot better. From casual scrolling on social media to playing video games with your friends, it makes the experience smoother, faster and more responsive. The display is also HDR10+ certified making sure you enjoy deep richer colours across supported platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Youtube.

64MP Triple Rear Camera

Nord CE 2 5G checks all the right boxes in the camera department as well. Boasting a triple camera set-up, the primary sensor is a 64MP shooter which can click crisp images with high levels of details and natural colours. You also get an 8MP ultra-wide sensor for capturing a wider frame, and finally, there is a 2MP macro sensor for macro shots to get up close to the subject.

This hardware is combined with some interesting software features as well, like Nightscape for better low light performance and a portrait mode with better edge detection. For the selfies, you get a 16MP shooter on the front.
