Whatsapp has recently announced that it will no longer support some devices as these do not have the capabilities that are needed to expand the app’s features.
A list of all the devices which will no longer be compatible with the messaging app has been published on
WhatsApp’s mobile device support page. The page also states that though the mentioned operating systems will no longer be supported, some of them might lose services immediately, while in others some features might stop running at any time.
This decision will surely have a direct and immediate impact on a significant portion of their users.

- Android 2.1 (Eclair)
- Android 2.2 (Froyo)
- Android 2.3.7 (Gingerbread) won't be supported after 2 years
- iOS 6 (
