He wears Hawaiian shirts to work and even named his dog "Koa," a word that means "daring warrior" in the native tongue.
He also owns a 5-acre estate on the Big Island, which he purchased for $12.5 million in 2000 and constructed over several years.
He said at a 2012 conference that he spends about a third of his total time at his vacation home.
And one of the things he likes to do while he's there is ride a Gibbs Quadski XL, an all-terrain vehicle that can instantly transform into a watercraft.
The Quadski XL is quite the billionaire toy -it can travel up to 45 miles per hour on both water and land and they typically cost about $50,000 each.
Benioff recently gave two Quadskis to the San Francisco Police and Fire Departments as a gift, apparently because he thought they would be helpful for water rescues.
When deciding whether they would accept the gift, the Board of Supervisors valued the amphibious vehicles at $50,550 each.
After a bit of deliberation, the board ended up accepting the gift for use by emergency personnel. The SFPD even took one of the Quadskis out for a spin last weekend.
Great to see @Sfpd @SFPDChiefSuhr making good use of the @GibbsSportsAmp Quadski. I am sure Batkid would like a ride! pic.twitter.com/gOiDxrn3H2
