If you thought making apps was easy money, you're probably a few years too late.

As this chart from Statista shows, the average number of apps used by the typical US smartphone owner has been stuck around 27 for four years straight now, according to data from Nielsen. People are spending more and more time in those apps, although that growth slowed down as well in 2015.
So if you're making an app, it better be great enough to replace one of the apps your audience is already using. They just don't have room for any more.
