Come May 18 and you would see another Chinese smartphone company making inroads in India as Meizu has decided to launch its phone in the country.
Chinese phone maker, Meizu, announced on its official Twitter handle that it would launch theMeizu m1 Note in India. With this news, it seems India has become a new playground for Chinese smartphone makers as Xiaomi, Gionee and Oppo have already captured the imagination of people in the country.
Meizu had posted a teaser about its India entry on its Facebook page in March this year and it is expected that the company would tap both online and offline channels for sales in India.
Meizu m1 Note has a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes powered by a MediaTek's octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat atop which it has its proprietary Flyme 4 skin. The phone has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. There is a big 3,140 mAh battery under the hood.
The phone will be priced at around Rs 13,800 which seems like a decent price point. However, chances are that Meizu might price the phone more aggressively, keeping Xiaomi's offerings in mind.
