It is becoming the standard for e-commerce, creating what Deliverr cofounder Michael Krakaris sees as a huge market opportunity.

In fact, Deliverr is challenging Amazon's e-commerce dominance by using cutting edge technology, including machine learning, to help businesses ship their products quicker and based on the lowest possible cost. "We're enabling anyone to offer free delivery," he said. "That's good for Amazon in many ways. That's not great for Amazon, in other ways. What's important is it's good for the merchant."

Krakaris, who is 25 and who was recently named to Forbes' list of 30 Under 30, said the startup's goal is to ease the burdens many merchants, especially small businesses, endure in shipping products to their customers.

"We're expanding this market not so much because we're eating into the Amazon space, but we're really starting to take from the physical commerce world," he told Business Insider.

While Amazon has revolutionized e-commerce shipping, "they only do it for a certain audience, the Prime audience, and they only do it for certain selections," Krakaris said

Deliverr's mission, he added, is to level the playing field for businesses "so they can sell anywhere they want."
