You can search a conversation on Skype to find particular words or phrases in text chats with contacts.
Skype's search or "find" feature will only review text from the last six months.
The search function is available on both the desktop and mobile versions of Skype.

You can search through any Skype conversation on either the mobile or desktop applications. Here's how to do it.
How to search a conversation on Skype using its desktop application
1. Click on the Skype application and sign in.

2. In the Skype application window, select the conversation you wish to search from the left column of the desktop app window.
3. At the top of the chat history window, choose the "Find" link underneath the contact's name.

4. A search bar will appear. Type the word or phrase you want to search.
5. Your search terms will appear highlighted in the conversation. You can navigate between them using the up and down arrows in the search field.
How to search a conversation on Skype using its mobile application
1. Open the Skype app, and sign in if prompted.
2. Tap on the conversation you wish to search.
3. Tap on the contact's name at the top of the conversation window.

4. Select "Search in conversation" from the profile menu options.
5. The "Find in chat" search bar should appear. Type the word or phrase you want to search in the field.
6. Navigate between the highlighted search terms using the up and down arrows.
