  • You can record audio on your iPad using the Voice Memos app, which is easy to use and can record hours of audio with surprisingly good quality, even without an external microphone.
  • Several standard Apple apps also allow for the recording of audio and make it easy to insert sound files into documents.
  • You can also download any number of third-party apps that will give you even more ability to record and edit audio files on an iPad.

Along with taking photos, playing games, surfing the web, taking measurements, and so much more, add creating audio recordings to the list of things an iPad can do surprisingly well.

Using the iPad's built-in microphone and apps that come preloaded on most iPads, you can record voice memos as reminders for later, insert sound clips into a document, spreadsheet, or presentation, or even record the minutes of a meeting or the music at a show.
