Tesla competitor Nikola Motor's electric pickup truck reservations are now open. Here's how you can reserve the Badger.

• Reservation bookings for the Nikola Badger electric pickup truck opened on June 29.
• There are three packages starting from $250 and going to $5,000.
• Nikola Motor CEO and founder Trevor Milton said on Twitter that: "All reservations are 100% refundable without penalty all the way up until the vehicle enters the assembly line."

Reservations for the Nikola Badger — an electric pickup truck that'll rival the Tesla Cybertruck — are now open. Here's how to reserve yours.

Nikola Motors founder and CEO Trevor Milton tweeted on June 7 that reservation books will open on Monday, June 29.

To reserve the Badger, all interested parties have to do is visit the company's website and create an account. From there, you have three package options to choose from, according to a Milton tweet from June 26.

The three packages are the Instinct Package ($250 deposit), the Predator Package ($1,000 deposit), and the Honey Package ($5,000 deposit and with limited availability). Each package grants double the deposit's cost off of the final purchase price, a ticket to see the Badger in person at the Nikola World 2020 event in December, and a number of entries to win a Badger in a giveaway.

Honey Package deposit holders will also get their vehicles first.

All deposits are fully refundable before November 1, 2020, but the company says $250 of the deposit will be non-refundable after November 1, 2020.

On Twitter, Milton elaborated that the company will not use the money from deposits to "fund [its] development." People can get their deposits back until they pick out their final colors, specifications, and their trucks hit the assembly line "without penalty." he wrote.

The Badger has a claimed maximum range of 600 miles through the use of a hydrogen fuel cell and other battery-powered sources, which surpasses the Tesla Cybertruck's claimed range by 100 miles. Other estimates include a 2.9-second zero to 60 mph time and a tow rating of over 8,000 pounds.

Designed to be heavy-duty, the Badger supposedly can be used as both an off-roading vehicle and also a construction pickup.
