Uber paid hackers $100,000 to cover up a 2016 cyber attack that exposed the personal data of 57 million people, including both riders and drivers, Bloomberg's Eric Newcomer reported on Tuesday.

The data breach occurred in October 2016, according to Bloomberg, and former CEO Travis Kalanick became aware of the cyber attack a month later.
