You may not be able to get the iPad Pro's most important add-ons for another month

The iPad Pro, the gigantic new productivity-focused tablet from Apple, was officially released today.

But if you want the $169 attachable Smart Keyboard or $99 Apple Pencil stylus you need to really get the most out of your new iPad Pro, you'll have to wait another three to four weeks.

It's a bummer for those who wanted to try out the Apple iPad Pro as a potential laptop replacement.

The Smart Keyboard, too:

We checked whether the Pencil and Keyboard were available for pickup at the Apple Store in San Francisco and struck out there, too.

We've also heard independently from a third-party software vendor that Apple is saying the Pencil won't be broadly available for a few more weeks.

It's especially disappointing given that without these accessories, the iPad Pro, which starts at $799 for a 32GB model with WiFi, is just a really big, expensive iPad - without any of the features that Apple CEO Tim Cook claims will let it replace your laptop.
