Rectangular camera modules have become a trend of sorts lately, and the Galaxy A71 also has it. While it does stand out, it might not match everyone’s taste.

The OnePlus 7, on the other hand, has a more traditional camera module aligned towards the center. Although it doesn’t look too good either, it helps that it’s not as big as the one on the Galaxy A71.

Samsung Galaxy A71 vs OnePlus 7: Display

The Galaxy A71 has a big display with a hole punch notch in the center on the top. It offers a slightly more immersive experience when compared to the regular water drop notch that is present on the OnePlus 7.

Both the phones offer a similar experience – as they support Full HD+ resolution and have an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Samsung Galaxy A71 vs OnePlus 7: Cameras

The Galaxy A71 pulls ahead of the OnePlus 7 when it comes to the cameras. It has four cameras on the back, which is two more than the OnePlus 7.

With the Galaxy A71, you can click ultrawide angle and macro photos thanks to the two additional cameras. The OnePlus 7 does not have them, and it also has a relatively old primary camera.

As such, the Galaxy A71 is the clear winner in this department.

The Verdict

The Galaxy A71 is Samsung’s latest bet in the mid-range. It ticks most of the boxes, too – the display, cameras and battery life should be great. The one area where it doesn’t do too well is value for money.

This is where the OnePlus 7 comes in. You get flagship-grade hardware in terms of power, performance and display. It does miss out on the two additional cameras that the Galaxy A71 has, but then it more than makes up for it in other departments.

If you want a better camera experience, the Galaxy A71 could be your choice. However, if you are looking at the overall experience, the OnePlus 7 might still be the better option.
