Essentially, it could be OnePlus’ answer to phones like the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Motorola Razr and the Huawei Mate X.
OnePlus Concept One: What we know so far
Little is known about the OnePlus Concept One. But OnePlus did promise a futuristic design. It also said that the Concept One will be the first in a series of concept phones that will come with innovative technology and an alternate design approach.
In addition to a foldable display, the report also suggests that the OnePlus Concept One might support up to 40W wireless fast charging and 100W wired fast charging.
Foldable phones are not easy
At the moment, it is not known if Concept One will make it to the production line and compete with the likes of Galaxy Fold, Razr and Mate X. Among these three, the Galaxy Fold is the only foldable smartphone that has been launched commercially in multiple markets, including India.
The Motorola Razr witnessed a setback as its commercial launch is pushed back.
The Huawei Mate X finally went on sale in November, but it is not available for purchase outside of China as of now. If the OnePlus Concept One turns out to be a foldable phone, OnePlus has its task cut out.
