Apple's next giant phone may have an exclusive feature that can tell how hard you're pressing the screen
Apple first introduced its Force Touch technology alongside the Apple Watch. The new technology allows the Apple Watch to distinguish between a soft tap and a harder press for added interactions, and Apple has since integrated Force Touch into the trackpads for the upcoming MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro.
By adding Force Touch to the iPhone's display technology, Apple could easily introduce new ways to use the device - allowing for developers to include additional menus and commands that distinguish between a soft or hard press on the screen.
While past reports from The Wall Street Journal, Apple Insider, and TechNews Taiwan have all stated that Apple will include Force Touch in both the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, MacRumors points out that the recent report from the Economic Daily News only mentions Force Touch in the iPhone 6s Plus - suggesting Apple could make it an exclusive the larger iPhone.
The conflicting reports weigh in favor of Apple including the technology in all version of the iPhone 6s, but it's worth noting that Apple has introduced exclusive features to its largest iPhone model in the past: The iPhone 6 Plus is the only iPhone to include a camera with optical image stabilization and a landscape mode for the homescreen.
